Bellevue College is a community-based, open-access; public institution of higher education situated in Bellevue, Washington, a city on the Eastside of Lake Washington, near Seattle, United States.
Bellevue Community College was founded in 1966, initially under the auspices of the Bellevue School District, as an institution of higher education for residents of the Eastside of Lake Washington.

The institution began with a total of 464 pupils and 37 course instructors, with a curriculum that included classes in the social sciences, botany, trigonometry, physics, and English, among others. Vocational classes originally offered included nursing, basic aircraft blueprint reading, and food service management. Dr. Merle E. Landerholm was appointed the college’s very first president.

NURSING
The nursing training program in Bellevue College prepares graduates for beginning level clinical practice as Registered Nurses (RNs) through an Associate in Applied Science Transfer Degree in Nursing. Graduates are qualified to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). The license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Washington is authorized by the Washington State Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission.

The degree curriculum is built to ensure that prerequisite and general education classes are completed before the 2 years of nursing course work. The training program is selective admission with full-time lecture classes slated during the day and clinical hours slated during day and also evening hours.
Nursing education is a dynamic process of encouraging the development of skill, critical thinking and conjunction. The student/faculty relationship provides a chance to access educational services that assist professional development and improve personal growth.

Following are the minimum requirements for ADN-RN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include: 
All prerequisites must be completed before applying to the program.
1.      A cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 is required with a minimum of 2.0 in any given course.
2.      If you are transferring credits from another institution, you must submit official transcripts.
3.      Prerequisites courses:
o   BIOL&241 Human Anatomy and Physiology I
o   BIOL&242 Human Anatomy and Physiology II
o   BIOL&260 Microbiology • 6
o   These courses must have been taken within the past seven years. Online courses are not acceptable as a prerequisite.
o   CHEM&121 Introduction to Chemistry
o   These courses must have been taken within the past seven years.
o   ENGL&101 English Composition I
o   MATH 130 Introduction to Statistics
o   PSYC&200 Lifespan Psychology
o   CMST 280 Intercultural Communication
o   This is now a co-requisite course. It is strongly suggested that Full-Time Program students take this course before starting the nursing program.
4.      Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) - TEAS (Version V test) must be completed within the valid test period and cannot be taken more than 2 times in the same period. A minimum of 74% is required.
5.      COMPASS E-Write Test- COMPASS E-Write test must be taken within the valid test period. You can only take this test once in the same period. A minimum score of 8 is required.
6.      CPR for Healthcare Providers (American Heart Association)- The CPR card must be issued by a person or facility qualified specifically to instruct CPR for Healthcare Providers (American Heart Association) that includes infant, child and adult. Other types of CPR certification will not be accepted.
