Harbor College is a community college situated in Aberdeen, Washington, United
States Of America. Established in 1930, the college is positioned on a 120-acre
campus overlooking the town of Aberdeen.
Grays
Harbor College, a community and technical college, was developed in 1929 by a
group of Aberdeen citizens under the leadership of Mr. Ethan B. Hatch and on
August 7, the year 1930, was integrated under the laws of the state of
Washington. The college functioned as a private school from 1930 to 1945. In 1945,
the Aberdeen School District assumed management of the institution and provided
essential financial stableness.
NURSING
This
is a competitive selection training program. Students apply to the nursing
training program and contend with other candidates for a slot in the program on
the basis of a point system Nursing training program applications can be found
between October 1st and the first Monday in March annually in the Nursing
Department or visit online at http://www.ghc.edu/academics/programs/nursing .
The
following are very least specifications but do not assure selection. Each of
the specifications must be completed with a minimum grade of “C” (2 .0) before
consideration for selection. ATI TEAS examination results must be obtained no
later than June 30th to be utilized in the selection procedure.
Grays
Harbor College offers an Associate of Applied Sciences -Transfer Degree in
Nursing (AAS-T Nursing) which makes the graduate eligible to take the licensure
examination for registered nursing (NCLEX-RN).
Additionally,
registered nurse graduates preparing to complete a baccalaureate of science
degree in nursing (BSN) should have completed some non-nursing course work
necessary for entrance to a BSN program (Some schools might have additional
“university-specific” requirements for entrance to the institution that are not
pre-requisites in particular identified in the AAS-T requirements.).
This
program is endorsed by the Washington State Nurse Care Quality Assurance
Commission and certified by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing
. Placement in the training program is competitive.
